Growing up on a family farm, I always loved tinkering with equipment. Initially, I wanted to be an auto mechanic, but I soon realized I wanted to work on bigger equipment. After graduating from Nashville Auto Diesel College, I started my career at Baylor Trucking.
The biggest change I’ve seen is the technology in trucks and safety equipment. Trucks now come with automatic transmissions, ABS on trailers, and advanced safety features. We’ve also seen shifts in tire setups, going from dual tires to super singles and back to dual tires.
Yes. After I graduated from college, six month later, I began taking care of the Baylor Tennessee facility. I was able to move up and become a technician working on equipment, and in 2014 I was promoted to Supervisor. I have four technicians working with me.
Family is very important to me, and my job allows me to make time for them. I’m married and have nieces and nephews. Also, having lost my dad during the pandemic, I make it a point not to miss my standing Wednesday lunch date with my mom.
