Butch Hanna

Delivering the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree: “The Neatest Thing I’ve Ever Hauled”

  • BACKGROUND

With more than 105,000 hours of experience, Butch Hanna has been truck driving for 41 years, including 17 with Apex Transportation.

  • ROUTE OF THE DELIVERY

Butch was one of the two drivers who delivered the U.S. Capitol Christmas tree in 2020. The tree came from the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests in his home state of Colorado.

  • THE MEANING OF A SPECIAL DELIVERY

While discussing his journey with The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel, Butch said, “It’s been a blast. It’s been a lot of fun. I’ve enjoyed it.” While at another stop, Butch told 9 News in Denver, that the special delivery was “an honor.” Butch said, “I’ve drove a truck for 41 years and this is probably the neatest thing I’ve ever hauled.”
