GENERATIONS
My dad was a professional driver and a Captain on America’s Road Team from 2009-2010 and it was because of him and my love for driving that I wanted to become a professional driver.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TRUCKING?
During my summer school breaks, I would go with my dad on his trips from Albuquerque to Los Angeles and back. That’s when I knew that driving a truck was for me. I was bitten by the bug, as they say.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT TRUCKING?
When I started competing in the Truck Driving Championships, my Dad and I were both able to win our State TDC classes and then compete at the 2009 National Truck Driving Championships in Pittsburgh becoming the first father/son to ever accomplish this. That’s a memory I will always remember and something I often think about when I am fortunate enough to compete at the Nationals.
THE ROAD AHEAD
My dad was able to provide and support us with this industry, and I have been able to provide and support my own family now for 22 years. I became a Captain on America’s Road Team in 2011-2012 and a Captain on the FedEx Freight Road Team, a tremendous honor for me. I have so much pride for the trucking industry and an enormous amount of respect for all the people who continue to make our industry a great one.
