Baylor Trucking
The skills I gained from my military service of 14 years, such as people skills, flexibility, and attention to detail, made for a smooth transition into my trucking career. Now, at Baylor Trucking for nearly five years, I value the community and constant movement, reminiscent of my military experience.
The people skills, work ethic, patience, and flexibility developed in the service are crucial for interactions with shippers and navigating the unpredictable nature of trucking. Attention to detail honed in the military is vital for weather monitoring and precise adherence to instructions.
I shifted from a civilian job to trucking after two years at Coleman American Moving Services in Georgia, where I initially drove box trucks. Wanting to drive larger vehicles and explore more of the U.S., I earned my CDL at Troops Into Transportation Driving School. Following short stints with other trucking companies, I joined Baylor Trucking, where Army veteran Andre Ephraim trained me as a solo driver. I found fulfillment in the open road and enjoy the camaraderie of the industry. I will celebrate my fifth anniversary at Baylor Trucking in July 2024.
It was a special honor. Representing Baylor Trucking during these deliveries to military cemeteries in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois was a profoundly moving experience, emphasizing the meaningful connection between my military background and my role as a truck driver.
