Elisabeth Barna

“I am proud to work in such an incredible industry.”

Chief Operating Officer & Executive VP of Industry Affairs
American Trucking Association (ATA)

  • WHEN DID YOU JOIN ATA?

I joined ATA in 2005, after eight years as Director of Communications at the Motor Freight Carriers Association. Prior to MFCA, I spent seven years with ATA in the Capitol Hill Office, where I was the director of legislative affairs. I also worked for the Grocery Manufacturers of America for five years, focusing on state legislative affairs and membership communications.

  • WHAT DO YOU DO FOR ATA?

I have years of trucking and legislative experience and I am responsible for ATA’s industry communications strategy, federation relations, image, and outreach advocacy. I oversee ATA events and meetings too. I also lead ATA’s industry leadership programs, including the ATA future leaders’ program, LEAD ATA, America’s Road Team, Share the Road, and other image programs and advocacy initiatives.

  • WHAT ARE SOME ACCOMPLISHMENTS YOU ARE PROUD OF?

In recognition of my work for the industry, the Trucking Associations Executive Council presented me with the prestigious “J.R. ‘Bob’ Halladay” Award, which is named after Bob Halladay for a distinguished career in trucking.
