Delivering the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree: “A Journey of Christmas Cheer.”
BACKGROUND
I’m a professional truck driver for System Transport and I’ve been a driver for over 21 years now. I’ve always been captivated by life on the road. The decision to become a truck driver was the best decision I’ve made. Being able to take part in hauling the 2021 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree was a chance to do something small for my country.
ROUTE OF THE DELIVERY
As a truck driver from Washington state, I helped, along with several other drivers, to deliver the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree from the Six Rivers National Park in Eureka, CA to the nation’s capital in Washington D.C.
THE MEANING OF A SPECIAL DELIVERY
Being part of this country’s journey was something I was excited to be a part of. I never would have imagined my career would lead me to this unique opportunity. It was awesome to see everyone from all the little towns come out to see the People’s Tree. I was happy to be bringing Christmas cheer to everybody. I really did not want this tour to end because it was such an amazing experience!
