The Trucker: Pilot Flying J founder Haslam donates $1.25M to trucking PR campaign

Pilot Flying J founder James A. Haslam II Thursday made a significant contribution on behalf of Pilot Flying J to Trucking Moves America Forward (TMAF), the growing industry-wide image movement.

With the U.S. Capitol in the background, Haslam and Pilot Flying J donated $1.25 million to TMAF over the next five years to help the movement in its mission to create a positive image for the industry both internally and externally with policymakers and the general public.

Haslam was joined on stage by noteworthy figures from both the state of Tennessee and the trucking industry including Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.; Rep. John Duncan, R.-Tenn.; Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn.; American Trucking Associations President and CEO Bill Graves; Truckload Carriers Association President Chris Burruss and Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association’s Ryan Bowley.

TMAF was launched in March at the Mid-America Trucking Show and in April, TMAF shared that it had raised more than a half-million dollars since its official launch. The Pilot Flying J donation is the largest cash donation to-date.
